Opera browser to enable emoji-based web addresses

Opera users will currently register and access emoji URLs and private domains via emoji-centric integration with Yat.

Opera declared a partnership with Yat, a platform that permits the creation of emoji-based net addresses (URL), for integration of the emoji system in Opera’s browsers across all operating systems. Celebrating the announcement, the pair launched an event to distribute seven non-fungible tokens (NFTs) from legendary NFT creator Fvckrender valued at a floor value of 2.89 Ether (ETH).

Tech startup Yat’s NFT project permits web users to possess personalized strings of emojis and use them as universal digital identifiers and pocketbook addresses. Recently, Opera discharged the beta version of its new Crypto Browser Project. The integration permits Opera users to surf the net by coming into a string of emojis in the URL bar rather than letters and words. The “modification” of Opera, as the company calls it a “new, easier and additional fun”, thanks to realizing and being directed to Yat pages. 

Jorgen Arnesen, govt vice chairman of mobile at Opera stated, “The partnership marks a significant paradigm shift within the means the web works. Through the mixing with Yat, Opera users square measure ready to ditch .com or maybe words in their links and use emojis to be directed to websites”. Emojis embedded in web content can link to the corresponding “y.at/” page mechanically. Noted artists and celebrities were among the primary ones to speculate in and use their Yat emoji net addresses, merely referred to as Yats. As an example, rapper Lil Wayne’s  Yat page  directs users to his record label’s website and DJ Steve Aoki’s Yat page takes users to his website.  

To mark the integration’s launch, Yat and Opera square hosted a scavenger exploration for participants to contend for seven commissioned Fvck Crystals NFTs from NFT creator Fvckrender.
