Angel Battles is a decentralized application built on the Ethereum blockchain.
Collect angel, pet, and accessory NFT cards to train, breed, and battle your way to the top of Mt. Zion, the global leaderboard.
Angel Battles first contracts launched in Jan 2018. The ERC721 standard was in its infancy, and our first contracts were not fully compatible (we used unlocks instead of approvals)
We reached the top 5 Etherum games for DAU on dappradar, but the complexity of the game was unsustainable in a high gas fee environment.
We changed the cards to be ERC721, and implemented conversion contracts for legacy cards
The game is under active development (since spring 2021) and we are testing out several rollups and other scaling solutions
Welcome to Angel Battles, an exciting new game on the Ethereum blockchain. With a few short instructions, you’ll be fighting your way to the top of Mt. Zion in no time. This page is the ‘hub’ that provides an overview of the different modules and links to get detailed information about each.
This guide has been updated to reflect the September 2019 launch of AngelBattles 2.0. We have been able to significantly improve the user experience of the game as blockchain infrastructure (see our partnerships with SKALE and Portis) has progressed. Players with legacy cards will want to convert them to ERC721.
The game is run as a decentralized app (Dapp) on the Ethereum blockchain to provide 100% uptime and to verify the ownership of each unique card. This also means that no one can ‘cheat’, not even the people who made the game.
Everyone should read the disclaimer/terms and conditions, especially if you are new to crypto and blockchains. Learn what this game is and how it works. If you haven’t done it already, you need to Connect to the Blockchain. Remember, you only need to do this once and you can use any DApp.
Acquisitions, Breeding, Medals and the 0x0 Pastures are on the main Ethereum network, while battles and the Mt. Zion leaderboard are on SKALE.
