According to rumors, Google CEO Sundar Pichai revealed plans for a ChatGPT rival. Google’s artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot has been in development since the beginning of 2022, Pichai clsaimed, and the company has “big plans” for it. The company’s AI will enable users to “interact directly” with Google’s “newest, most powerful language models as a companion to search,” he continued during the Q4 earnings call.

LaMDA, a Google AI chatbot, is one of the first tools that will allegedly be made publicly available, according to him. The only people who have had access to this tool are Google’s engineers and beta testers.

The company has reportedly revealed a search and AI event, according to a recent The Verge report. According to 9to5Google, Google will host a search and AI event on February 8 under the title “Google presents: Live from Paris.”. Google will likely talk about how it will react to chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT at 8:30 AM ET during a live webcast of the event on YouTube.

To compete with ChatGPT, Google will likely unveil its own AI chatbot at this event. The company will talk about how it is “using the power of AI to reimagine how people search for, explore, and interact with information, making it more natural and intuitive than ever before to find what you need,” as described in an invitation sent to The Verge.

Rumor has it that Google has tested ChatGPT-equivalent competitors internally because it considers ChatGPT to be a “code red” signal to its search business. Google is reportedly also testing a different search page with a question-and-answer design.

At Google AI, researchers are working to push the boundaries of the technology, incorporate AI into brand-new goods and sectors, and develop tools that anyone can use.

The report claims that AI simplifies a variety of routine tasks, including looking for loved ones’ photos, overcoming language barriers with Google Translate, sending emails while on the go, and using Google Assistant to carry out tasks. AI also offers novel viewpoints on contemporary problems, from enhancing healthcare to advancing scientific research.

The research from investment bank UBS (via CBS News) report said, ChatGPT is currently one of the apps with the fastest growth rate ever. It has more than 100 million users now after just two months. OpenAI recently unveiled a new ChatGPT Plus plan, which provides quicker response times and priority access to new features and upgrades, demonstrating that the business isn’t slowing down.
